Busy day today. We got about 4 inches of snow last night and unsure of the road conditions, I opted out of going to the gym this morning. My niece, Hannah, got to stay with us today. I have a couple of Uppercase Living Shows to close and I had to work at the Gap tonight. When I work late, I always come home a little keyed up and not ready to go to bed. I had to stop off at Target for some milk and bread. So, when I got home everyone was already asleep. What better to do than throw in another load of laundry and get on the computer. Of course, I have to post something on my blog. I know that Aimee expects 2 post a day...sorry to let you down:)
We are getting ready to go on a couples retreat with our church in a couple of weeks. So, I was looking at the church website to see if there was any info out there and looking at the topic of the upcoming series that Pastor Mark will be delivering. "God is Silent". There is even a website you can go to and read or post about when you have felt God is silent in your life or why you think he has been silent. http://www.godissilent.com/ I am really looking forward to hearing his message....
Tim and I began going to NewSpring 4 years ago January. We were struggling after the stillbirth of our son, Karston. We found so much hope in the messages that we received through the sermons. It took us 3 years to build the strength to talk to the pastor and ask some tough questions. So many times, during the really tough times, it is hard to keep your eyes on the Lord, even when you need Him most. It is so easy to get caught up in asking yourself what you did wrong. What we have learned is that God isn't silent, we just have to be willing to open up our hearts and allow Him to help you heal and to guide you.
You can go to the church website and even download the sermons if you are interested. Pastor Mark is an amazing speaker. I know that you will be touched by the message. Check it out!
